Paxar EMEA, part of Paxar Corporation, the world's leading provider of fully integrated and innovative labelling, merchandising and identification solutions, is pleased to announce it is supplying Wagamama, the noodle restaurant chain, with the Paxar 9825 printer and all necessary labelling materials for its stock identification needs UK-wide.
Wagamama prides itself on the consistency and quality of each and every one of its meals. To ensure this, all restaurants in the UK are supplied freshly prepared sauces, stocks and meats from a BRC (British Retail Consortium) accredited Central Kitchen based in London. For all prepared goods labels must be printed to clearly identify when it is made, its batch number and when it is to be used by.
The Paxar 9825 prints waterproof and hardwearing labels designed specifically for use in a kitchen environment. This sort of identification is vital to Wagamama to ensure:
· Quality – What is supplied to the restaurants is only the freshest batches and, equally, nothing is used in the restaurants that is past its use by date; and
· Traceability – In the event of any issues in the supply chain, batches are immediately traceable throughout the UK and can be recalled efficiently.
Features of the Paxar 9825 printer include:
· Robust industrial construction available in ABS or metal casing;
· Flip up printhead for easy access;
· Massive 200M rolls of stock and 600M ribbons to ensure maximum work time;
· Efficient printing at 6”/152mm per second - fast enough for most applications;
· The 9825 ADK interpreter ensures compatibility with any legacy system, in common with all 9800 series printers;
· On demand stock peeler as standard;
· Offered with a range of standard label stock sizes; and
· Also available as a linerless stock printer.
Paxar also supplies Wagamama with labels and labelling guns to clearly identify the date stock is received in the Central Kitchen, as well as bespoke labels dots to identify otherwise unidentifiable products. Wagamama has four types of gyoza dumplings on its menu - chicken, duck, prawn, and yasai (vegetable) which from the outside look the same so Paxar provides different colour dot labels to ensure the right gyoza is served to the right customer! Additionally, labels are supplied to each restaurant so kitchen staff can identify the different stocks and sauces and relevant date and batch information once transferred to containers.
Gary Virdee, Production and Operations Manager at Wagamama, said: “Paxar understands our business thoroughly, having worked together now for over four years. When providing labelling and identification solutions Paxar offers a complete service and not just a product. Max Tatford, Marketing Manager at Paxar, commented: “We’re delighted to be working together with such a fast growing and exciting company as Wagamama. Our solutions increase the efficiency of its supply chain and work to maintain freshness and quality of every meal it serves. We look forward to providing Wagamama with new Paxar products and solutions as the business continues to grow.”
